Printed Glass
Printed Glass | Custom Decorative & Architectural Glass Solutions
Printed glass combines the performance of architectural glass with custom graphics, patterns, colours, and decorative finishes. Ideal for commercial, residential, and architectural applications, it allows designers to introduce branding, privacy, and visual impact without compromising the performance of the glazing system. Archi Glass manufactures custom printed glass at our Fairfield East facility using advanced digital printing technology for projects across Australia.
What Is Printed Glass?
Printed glass is float glass with a ceramic or UV-cured ink layer applied directly to one surface using digital printing technology. Depending on the printing process, the ink is cured or fused to the glass surface to create a durable finish rather than a film or decal applied over the glass. Unlike films or vinyl decals, digitally-printed ceramic finishes are designed as a durable, integrated glass finish rather than a surface-applied graphic. Printed glass can be further processed after printing. It can be toughened for safety-rated applications, laminated for post-breakage integrity, or incorporated into double-glazed units for thermally rated facades. The printed finish itself doesn't determine whether the glass meets the safety requirement; the complete glass specification and subsequent processing do.
Types of Curved Glass
Mirror Glass
We are your trusted curved glass suppliers near you, offering curved glazing that not only adds aesthetics but also enhances energy efficiency in buildings. Our curved glass panels are perfect for creating captivating facades and reducing solar heat gain.
Double Glazed Glass
When it comes to insulation and noise reduction, curved double glazing is the answer. Our experts create curved double-glazing units where you need rounded or curved surfaces.
Toughened Glass
Safety and durability are paramount in architectural design, and as established curved glass suppliers, we also provide curved toughened glass, offering both strength and elegance. These curved toughened glass panels are ideal for balustrades and staircases.
Laminated Glass
Laminated glass is designed for applications where safety, security, acoustic performance, and structural integrity are essential. By bonding multiple glass panes with specialised interlayers, laminated glass provides enhanced protection while remaining in place if broken.
Annealed Glass
Before glass gets toughened, laminated, bent, or coated, it begins as annealed glass. It is the base material that the entire glazing industry builds from. And while it rarely gets the attention that processed glass types do, specifying it correctly matters more than most people expect
Printed Glass
Printed glass combines the performance of architectural glass with custom graphics, patterns, colours, and decorative finishes. Ideal for commercial, residential, and architectural applications, it allows designers to introduce branding, privacy, and visual impact without compromising the performance of the glazing system.
Security Glass
Security glass is designed to provide enhanced protection against forced entry, impact, and other security risks while maintaining the transparency and appearance of standard glazing.
Acoustic Glass
Acoustic glass is designed to reduce unwanted noise while maintaining the transparency and performance of modern glazing systems.
What Can Be Printed?
At Archi Glass, we can produce a wide range of custom printed glass designs, including:
Full-colour graphics and photography
any image file at sufficient resolution can be printed onto glass at large format. Corporate imagery, wayfinding graphics, decorative photography, and branded content for commercial interiors and facades
Patterns and textures
geometric, organic, and custom repeating patterns for privacy screening, decorative partitions, and facade elements
Gradients and translucency effects
graduated opacity from clear to opaque, or from one colour to another, used for privacy control without full visual blockage
White and single-colour prints
used for privacy screening, frosted glass effects, and minimalist decorative applications where full-colour printing is not required
Text and wayfinding
building identification, room numbering, directional graphics, and compliance signage integrated directly into the glass panel
Artwork is produced directly from digital files, allowing custom designs to be manufactured to suit each project's specifications.
Key Features and Benefits
  • Durable ceramic or UV-cured printing designed for long-term performance
  • Full-colour digital printing at large format, up to 3,660mm x 18,000mm
  • Fade-resistant under normal UV exposure conditions
  • Compatible with subsequent toughening, laminating, and double-glazing processes
  • Privacy control without sacrificing natural light - graduated opacity is achievable in a single panel
  • Custom artwork, photography, brand graphics, and patterns all produced from digital files
  • Consistent colour reproduction across single and multi-panel projects
Common Applications
Printed glass is specified across commercial, hospitality, institutional, and residential projects where visual performance is part of the brief:
  • Corporate office partitions and lobby glazing with brand identity or decorative graphics
  • Retail shopfronts and interior feature walls with product imagery or pattern
  • Hospitality interiors - hotels, restaurants, and bars where decorative glass contributes to the space's visual character
  • Educational and institutional buildings using printed glass for wayfinding, branding, and privacy screening
  • Residential feature panels, kitchen splashbacks, and bathroom wall glass with custom imagery or colour
  • Facade elements where printed glass provides privacy, decorative patterning, or solar-control functionality
Printed Glass Combined With Other Processes
Printed glass can be combined with other glazing processes to achieve additional safety, structural, acoustic, or thermal performance. Toughened printed glass can be used where safety glazing is required. Laminated printed glass adds post-breakage integrity and can protect the printed finish within the glass assembly.
Printed double glazed units can combine decorative or privacy functions with thermal and acoustic performance. The position of the print within the final assembly is also considered during specification to ensure the finish is appropriately protected for the application.
File Requirements and the Specification Stage
Printed glass starts with a digital file. Vector files are preferred for graphics with hard edges, text, and geometric patterns; they scale without loss of quality at any panel size. High-resolution raster files are used for photographic and tonal imagery. Colour accuracy across large panels and multiple-panel orders is confirmed before production begins. If the project involves a sequence of panels that need to be read as a continuous image or a consistent pattern, that coordination happens at the artwork stage. Providing artwork during the early design stage allows colour, sizing, panel layout, and image positioning to be confirmed before manufacturing begins.
